Mary Shelley's Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus has been retold, reconfigured, and reinterpreted innumerable times over the last 200 years. Like Victor Frankenstein, the re-inventors pick and choose the pieces they feel will best serve their purposes and their new creations. These creations cross many media and tend to fall into two categories: reincarnations---reviving aspects of Shelley's narrative, usually plot and characters, in direct and obvious ways --- and reinventions---reimagining aspects of Shelley's narrative, usually themes, in new and creative ways.
Frankenworld
This site focuses on the reincarnations and reinventions of Mary Shelley's narrative. Though it is not possible to capture every reference to or use of aspects of Shelley's narrative, this site attempts to be as exhaustive as possible.
